
Today in the Ouashe district of the Ethiopian highlands, an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 occurred on the Richter scale. The earthquake occurred not far from the Asosa region in the Benishangul-Gumuz area.
The head of the regional bureau for extraordinary situations, Melkam Gebreihabber, reported that there is currently no information on casualties or damages.
"We continue to assess the aftermath of the earthquake and provide necessary support to those affected if such needs arise," said Gebreihabber.
Local administrative bodies and rescue services are monitoring the situation and are ready to intervene if necessary.
