
Officials from Ethiopia and Kenya reported on clashes along the border between the two countries, resulting in approximately 22 Kenyan citizens going missing, while 13 people were killed on the Ethiopian side.
Witnesses reported that the conflict started between fish traders from both countries over fishing rights in a contested area of the lake, which is located on the border.
Local officials confirmed that the incident occurred in the Marsabit region in northern Kenya. An investigation is being conducted into the circumstances surrounding the events.
However, Ethiopian official representatives have not yet confirmed information about the killings on the territory of their country.
